Eclipses, the second Scotland, and much work!

A good morning to you, bloggy fans. The picture above (one of Jason's photographic gems)is us gawking at a lunar eclipse down at the Albert Docks. I've never actually watched one before, and it was really neat and a little otherworldly. Which, given my program, fits right in!
Things here in the land of Liverpool have been busy but mostly doing fabulously exotic things such as going to class and starting on papers. I did make some time to run off to Edinburgh again with Jean to visit my friend Dave. Jean and I did a lot of the tourist sights I'd missed the last time - I'd seen them before but not for a few years, so they were essentially new again. This was Jean's first time, and she fell in love with Edinburgh and all of its accessories:

She and Dave and I went to a funky Mexican restaurant (yes, in Scotland - don't think about it too hard) where I attempted vainly to explain the finer points of making a Shirley Temple.
The end of the trip was capped off with a ghostly tour of the creepy nooks and crannies of Edinburgh, led by a vampiric creature called Adam Lyal. There were a ton of people, most of whom were Canadian. This is not due to Jean and I reproducing parthenogenically at a rapid rate, but rather the presence of a huge quantity of Canadian teenagers on an exchange program. To my chagrin, I was denounced as a witch, hauled up by the collar, and vampiric Adam demanded, "What's your name, Witch?" I told him. There was a moment of silence, and his lips quirked. "Well, then, um, Witch Sunshine, it's time to extract a confession!" And then I became the demo for the set of thumbscrews. Thumb days are like that, I guess. Once I had confessed to my 'crimes' and been summarily (and hypotethically) burned at the stake, we carried on and learned many of the dark tales of Scottish witchery. (To those of you who are currently sniggering and making jokes about how you always knew I was a witch - bear in mind that I know where you live!)
By the end of the night, Jean, Vampire King, the Mad Monk and I were fast friends...or so it appeared.

In other news, I'm leaving in the morning to meet Jon in Seattle for a week (hooray!) - it's been over two months since we saw each other at Christmas, and it's hard to go that long without your favourite person!
Three days after I get back, my Mom arrives for a week and we run off to Ireland, and then I buckle down and get to work on writing so that I can get my life back!
More when I get back from the 'States, and hope all is well in your worlds :)
